Travel Nurse Spending Winter in Northern Maine

travel nurse sent us some great pictures from her travel nursing assignment in Maine and an awesome review that just makes anyone want to go there. In her own words...

Good Morning

Here are a few pictures of the surrounding area around the cabin and local Aroostook State Park.  We received 14" of snow travel nurse dog Sashaduring the night.  It is absolutely beautiful today! The sun is out and it is 14 degrees (above zero).  It feels like a heat wave compared to the past week of sub zero temps. I can't wait to get ski in the new powder; yesterday we went XC skiing while it started to snow for about 2 hours, what a blast that was!

Sasha was quilled by a porcupine 2 days ago while on a snowshoe walk. He felt sooooo bad. A vet visit, some anesthesia and $200 later she is back to her curious self! I hope she learned a lesson from her encounter with the local wildlife. She is fine now, that is all that matters. The vet and I removed about 100 quills from her face and most of them were inside her mouth.  After she woke up I took her to McDonalds for a nice big ice cream cone to help with the swelling in her mouth, she LOVED that.
